Horribly depressing

Touted as being "uplifting" by promos and the media, I found it anything but. The disgusting language alone was enough to make you want to bolt and was way overdone, not excused by characterization. It is dark and morbid. Precious does not come across as a highly sympathetic individual in spite of the inhuman treatment she suffered at the hands of her "parents". I left the film feeling angry and depressed and would not recommend it unless those feelings were one's objective.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
