I went in thinking this would be "just another run-of-the-mill annihilation movie" but instead found myself brought to tears many times throughout movie. Besides the excellent special effects, beautiful scenery and generally good acting (except for the "token" Russian man, whose character does not develop), the movie makes you THINK. As a Christian, I believe that only God knows when the world will end, and we will not have the opportunity to prepare the way the chosen few in this movie were able to do so. However, I found myself reflecting on my family, friendships, relationships and myself, wondering whether or not I will be prepared when the end arrives.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
