Mel Gibson should have taken over this movie

I must admit that it started off well but once I got to the middle of the movie i was like come on get to the point! They totally ruined the magnificent concept of the Mayans story of 2012. The effects were great but the actual story of 2012 claims that NO ONE survives it so its kind of dumb how a limo can beat the cracking Earth. Maybe if the movie would have started off with a Mel Gibson's "Apocolypto" type feel to where they actually show the Mayans predicting it, and then gradually ascending to present day THEN it would have been way better and more understandable for the people who do not know the story. The movie was very corny in some part; i.e.. saving a dog while your trying to save your life?? Come on now!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
