I am a sci-fi and science fan, and a researcher by profession. Good sci-fi movies intrigue me. But in recent times it seemed that directors & writers had lost ideas. "Avatar" feels like a fresh new breeze. The concepts are very well-grounded from a scientific perspective. I like the way Cameron has fantasized of establishing direct neural connection between organisms, and the depicted "soul" as information content in neural networks. If one has read scientific articles on possibilities of extraterrestrial life forms and how evolution can create & mould life under bizarre environments, one would readily be able to appreciate the life-form designs & concepts in the movie. Hat's off to James Cameron - looking forward for the sequels.
