Saw this movie last night at the IMAX theater. It was really cool to see the robots on the biggest screen ever made. :) Honestly, could care less about the whole father giving up on his son routine, just wanted to see the robots destroy each other. Yes, you see that too! The movie didn't spend too much time on the story with the father and son, something I was concerned with going in to see this movie. It's just the right amount of time. They don't dwell on it either. Also, Evangeline Lilly is smoking hot in this movie! The movie is predictable to a point, but you can figure it out. It's worth seeing!
If you love baseball in general, you will love this movie. I can't say enough great things about it. I always said it, baseball is the greatest sport, period, end of story. I ordered the book, can't wait to read it! Definitely go see it, worth the price of admission. I thought Brad Pitt was awesome! Jonah Hill wasn't too bad either. The only thing that I didn't think was totally 100% accurate was the portrayal of Art Howe played by Philip Seymour. I don't ever remember Art Howe having a gut, plus, wasn't he tall too? Still, and awesome movie! :)
I just got back from seeing "Apollo 18" and it was alright. Nothing scary to me about this flick. I saw the first movie of the day, and still paid $8.50 matinee price. God, I remember paying $4.50 a long time ago for a matinee flick. Anywho, getting back to this movie, there was only a handful of people in the theater, that should tell you all you need to know. Don't pay full price for this movie. Wait for it to come out on DVD or Netflix. It's one of those movies you go see and expect something else. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I have so so feelings about this movie, nuff said!
Man, I enjoyed this movie a lot! I don't give many 5 star reviews, but I'd go see this one again in a heart beat! I read in someone's previous reviews, he/she said "what if". Well, I think that hits the nail on the head. I don't want to give away the story, but you can figure it out. Remember the ole saying, what if the animals had the guns? Well it's not quite like that, but you get the meaning... Pay any price to see this flick. The movie moves along at a great pace, no slow spots whatsoever. The story is extremely interesting, and yes, it's dark too. I loved the ending, and it leaves you feeling, 1) it's good as it is, no reason for a second one, or 2) where would they take the next story to? Love it, love it, love it! :)
I just got back from seeing this flick, and it was good. I didn't think it was excellent though, there are a few slow spots in the movie. Ok, basically this movie is based off a scenario of, "What would happen if aliens visited us, or invaded us, back in the wild west days?" Well, this movie answers that question. Now, the story as to why the aliens are here are obvious, think about what was big back in those days... Once you put that together, well, the story is just, ah so what! Now, you got your alien abductions (hence what they show you in the trailers), and the other stuff that goes along with aliens and so forth. That being said, it is an entertaining movie. I paid the matinee price, don't know if I would pay $13.50 to see it on a Friday or Saturday night. It does satisfy the sci-fi fan, it did for me. :)
I really enjoyed this flick. First thing, you do not need to see it in 3D, so save yourself some moola their. Second, loved Hugo Weaving's character in this movie, he was downright nasty! Movie has it's comical moments, but wasn't overdone. There's a love interest in the movie, but it's not overdone either. This movie has plenty of action in it, along with some sci-fi too! I wasn't sold on all the Marvel movies this year, Thor was great, but I was disappointed in the X-Men First Class movie. Captain America is very entertaining, worth seeing at any price! :)
I just got back from seeing this flick, and I liked it. It's not great, so don't get your hopes up. I went to see this flick for Colin Farrell, and the movie really didn't go into his character a lot. Neither of Kevin Spacey's character either. Somewhat on Jennifer Anniston's a little bit more, but you can figure out why. This movie made me laugh, and as I said in the "review title", it has its moments. Matinee flick here, don't pay full price! Just my opinion.
I gotta tell you, I'm not a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds, because I think he's a total jerk off, but in this movie, he was really good! You don't need to see this movie in 3D, I didn't, and loved it! This movie was way better than X-Men First Class. I didn't think there was any slow spots in the movie, as soon as the movie started, it took off! Special effects are through the roof in this movie, go see it! Nuff said!
I went to see this movie last night with my sister and brother-in-law, and I thought it was good. It's not great, not like the first one. This movie was slow in spots, especially in the beginning, but I thought it picked up towards the middle and ending... What makes me laugh about these movies is how they don't remember a thing from the previous night, and then have to re-trace their steps sort of speak to fill in the missing pieces. The movie is predictable, but it does have it's funny moments! I would say pay on matinee price to see this flick. The pictures are hilarious at the ending, trust me on that! :)
Well, I finished reading the graphic novel "Priest: Genesis vols 1-3" right before I went to see this movie. I got to admit, did I read the right book? None of the characters seem to be in the movie. Loved the graphic novel, will read more of it!
As for the movie, I liked it. Is was slow in spots I thought. What's with Paul Bettany's reading his lines so softly, I was like saying to myself in the theater, what did he say? Anywho, I really liked Karl Urban's character, although his character they could've went more into. I also enjoyed Maggie Q's character, again they could've went deeper with her character too. You DO NOT need to see this in 3D, so save yourself a few bucks. I did and wasn't inmpressed at all! This is a matinee flick at best. Read the graphic novel, and then tell me what you think. The bikes they rode in the movie were cool though! This movie had its moments, but to me, it never took off. They end the movie wide open, so expect a sequel!
