I'm a huge Planet of the Apes fan. I found this version very entertaining. The animation and makeup was probably the best Hollywood put out to date. My only gripe about the movie is that it didn't keep with the tradition of the original nor did it present any depth. Maybe when it comes out on DVD I'll learn stuff that I missed in the theater. If this was a reboot of the Apes franchise, like Star Trek was, then they successfully pulled it off. I can definitely see a sequel or even series emerging from it. This is a must see.
We saw the movie last night and are both wondering what the heck. Most sci-fi movies keep you wondering, but my only wonder is how this flick made it to the theatres and not straight to the Sci-Fi channel. This movie was like others in the past, a great plot but poorly executed. I could see this being a super “at the edge of your seat” suspense, but it left us with a lot of loose ends. I don’t know where to start, other than for you to save your money and yourself. I can’t give it less than one star, so the one star has to be for the cool vehicles. It was like stepping back in time to see the old Torinos and muscle cars.
