I thought the Deathly Hallows was the greatest Harry Potter book, and so I had a huge expectation going into the movie. I was very satisfied. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was great because it was both loyal to the book and entertaining. This movie is bound to recieve some negative reviews because the story is designed to wrap up all the little plotlines and character backstories that were introduced throughout the series, but the deep characters and complex story was what set this series apart from some corny, rinky-dink children's fantasy movie. Also, while it is extremely frustrating to have to wait for the continuation (as I would have gladly sat through a five or six hour screening) I both appreciate the fact that the producers decided not to cut out so many great subplots in order to make the 800 page book into a two hour movie and also the fact that making movies is expensive. So, I'll gladly shell out the cash for the next one. I just wish it would be released a little sooner!
