This movie was just perfect. Excellent story, fantastic acting, moments of humor broken by moments of real pain. It captured perfectly the desperation of finding one's place in a world turned upside down. I identified with the main character and his struggle to find out who he is at that awkward age of 14. Incredibly well-done movie.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

I went in expecting an over-the-top romp like The Hangover. Instead, this was a sharply written film with the full range from hysterical laughs to potty humor, and it all worked together. Surprisingly likable characters and some wonderful acting. This could be a quiet cult hit.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The visuals in the movie are stunning, but that's not surprising since it's a product of designer Tom Ford. The story, however, was much more powerful than I anticipated. Colin Firth turns in an understated yet moving performance. It made me glad that I don't live in a world where I'd have to mourn the loss of a partner in secret because the world refused to see me as a full member of society. Two thumbs up!
