Well told tale - with a kick to it!

Enjoyable 106 minute diversion. A martial arts movie with some twists & turns. Djimon Hounsou is great as the mentor but he is under-utilized. Would have loved to have seen him more prevalent in the movie. A B+ movie for the genre. You will enjoy this movie if you generally like martial arts style movies with a moral about respect and control. A few top notch fight scenes. Just a wee bit long and could have been tightened up some with crisper editing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Beautiful Movie about Love & Perseverence

Another one of those "best things come in small packages" movies. You will be drawn to the plight of the primary protagonists and at times want to jump into the theater screen to help them. This is a powerful story told in a straightforward manner without fluff. The characters all feel real and I became a part of their journey. Excellent acting by Alonso and Castillo. Nice directing and editing. Very satisfying story - well told on the screen. May be in my top 10 for the year. See it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fun PG13 romp into the kung fu world of Chan & Li

An enjoyable family movie that will satisfy most age groups. An interesting story spiced up with Chan's character and humor. There are several well-choreographed action sequences that are fun to watch. That said there are also some weak and disappointing aspects to this martial arts fantasy film. Li & Chan fans finally have these 2 heavyweights together and we just do not see them in action together as much as we would prefer. The story lingers too long on the young boy in the "real world" and even too much when he is on his quest in the past. A bit long. Overall a fun ride worth taking.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Entertaining and Educational - Well done! See it!

I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise as of late. My predilections along with the drubbing Cruise has been taking from the critics had prejudiced me with very low expectations for this movie. What a great surprise this masterful film was for me. It takes some skill to create a suspense movie where one actually feels suspenseful and fully engaged from an historical event about which we all know the outcome. Yet this is exactly what Bryan Singer and a perfect cast led by Cruise have done! Bravo! Everything is well-done and this is Cruise's best lead role work in many years. Don't miss this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Fall is a visual feast worthy of your time

Reminded me of The Cell from a few years ago. Enjoyed the visual palette and the overall effects in this movie. Enjoyed the real life aspects intertwining with the high color visuals of the poetic saga as they crossed through each other in the telling of the tale. Perhaps just a bit long but worthy of a viewing for the originality and visual experiences. The canvas is gorgeous. Good flow. Well acted. A nice change of pace in an all-too homogenized movie world. See it if you are over 21 or a mature teenager.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The city dump is too good for this piece of trash

Please save your money and time and avoid this movie whatever you do. It had to take some conscious effort by Mike Myers and his band of lazy stooges to make a movie this bad. You will get more chuckles and learn more by staying home and looking up "dirty words" in a dictionary than watching them spoken and acted out in this waste of cinematic over-indulgent homage to every 13 year old boys dream of embarrassing sounds, smells, sights and dirty humor. Don't know or care how it ended as this is the first movie I've walked out of in many years. Barf bag material.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Doggone it but this movie is "fetching"....

For those of us that love our family pet dogs in spite of their imperfect behaviors we understand "Marley & Me". It is an all-too human tale of unconditional love and the pain of inevitable separation. Wilson and Aniston do an acceptable job as the 2 human lead stars. Alan Arkin is excellent in his character part. We grimaced and moaned in empathy as Marley did many of his "bad boy" dog deeds.... then we sobbed in the end as the human years eventually caught up to Marley's dog years. This is not Shakespeare but it is a noble tale of man and his best friend. Worthy of a viewing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Be a Stranger - Do Not See This Movie - Bad News

Another in a recent string of low grade, low value horror movies. This is a yawner and Liv Tyler is so bad in this movie. I really like her acting typically. Just cannot find anything about this movie to recommend. The horror is in the dialogue, plot, acting, editing and forced suspense. Nothing works here. A waste of all 107 minutes that you will invest hoping that something interesting will happen. It doesn't. Skip it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Funny Movie in spite of the F word crutch

This movie is funny thanks primarily to the 2 stars - Ferrell & Reilly. Steenburgen and Jenkins are masterful as well. Well cast for the movie that it is. Why comedy movies like this feel the need to divert and throw in so much foul language is beyond me. It really detracts from the physical humor and the better dialogue interaction. Overall - very enjoyable and funny! What more can you ask for (other than less profanity)? You will chuckle, grin and guffaw often. Endorphins will be released. You will feel good.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Rat Race Escapist Movie- Fun and Action-Packed

I had a great time for the 89 minutes this "Mad Max in prison" flick had me in it's clutches. Great escapists fare. Know the genre and if you understand, in general, what you are getting you should have a great time. Stratham plays his typical Stratham self in this high octane, high horsepower chase movie as he find a way to bust out of prison while taking out his revenge and the bad guys at the same time. A fun ride with plenty of thrills and chills. An adrenaline rush. Fun for boys and men. Rent Mamma Mia for your better halves and you watch this movie in the theater or rent it and watch in your den.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
