Not just your average Metal vs Human movie

Really had low expectations for this movie and did not have any historical perspective as I never played, collected or read Transformers materials. Quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this sci-fi action movie. The story, plot, dialogue and acting is very good. Shia LaBeouf is great in the lead role and again shows why he is likely to be a mainstream movie star for many years. This is a fun, inventive, action-packed amusement park ride on film. Bravo Michael Bay! Fun for the whole family but may be a bit too intense for kids under 10 years old.

StarDust is a Worthy Fantasy Tale....

This fantasy flick is worth a viewing if for no other reason than to see Robert DeNiro in this very different kind of a role. The movie is perhaps a bit long and has some "sluggish moments" but overall a fun, fantasy ride that you can watch with the entire family. Clare Danes does a good job in her lead role and Gervais is a hoot. An enjoyable diversion.

A Dirty, Sexy, Funny, Action Movie - A Fun Ride

Tarantino is the master director for this genre with a "modern-take". Well done flick that will keep your adrenaline pumping and give you some laughs and chuckles (at it's own expense). In the fun B & C grade movie style of yesteryear (think Motel Hell and Eastwood's spaghetti westerns as examples). High energy, high octane fun with dialogue to be "framed". A fun ride for the over 18 yr old male adrenaline junkie crowds.

My Reading on The Reader - One of the Best in 2008

A stunning movie. We were in awe of the story, plot, dialogue, acting, editing, script, pacing, costuming, make-up....everything. Really a perfect movie for adults. The complexity and layers of the human condition that are exposed and on display in this film are amazing. If it were up to me I would award the Female Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe and Oscar to Kate Winslet right now. Why wait? A triumphant movie by director Daldry with perfect acting performances by Winslet, Fiennes and Ganz. Don't miss it on the big screen.

Enjoyable Movie - for the casual Star Wars fan...

I am more of a casual Star Wars fan than many of my friends. Seems to me that the more obsessive the fan the more this move did not satisfy them. I liked it. It was fun and I could follow easily what was happening. All of that said that is how I would recommend it. If you are a huge aficionado of Star Wars it will probably be best if you skip this movie. If you are a lighter & more casual viewer then I think you will enjoy this movie with it's stylized animation. I did.

The Rocker Rocks - In a Funny Rolicking Way!

Here again my low expectations were greatly exceeded because of the story and Rainn Wilson's believable performance. He sells his part. This is just a well-done movie that will hold your attention and keep you involved in the character's search for their own "holy grail". Better than average comedy due to the story, acting, editing, dialogue and casting. Kudos also to director Cattaneo. Nice work. This movie is as solid as a "rock"! See it.

Yes - You Will WANT to See This Movie!

This movie massively exceeded my very low expectations. While I "wanted" it to be good I "just knew" it would not be. I was wrong. This is a great movie! Full or originality, great camera work, nice dialogue, tight plot and editing, fantastic special effects and CGI. Not a dull moment. Nice twists and turns over the final 25 minutes that had me fooled. Just cannot say enough good things, considering the genre, about this movie. Not for the under 17 yr olds. Adults will enjoy this flick - especially the guys. See it!

Not Just a Job - This is a Really Good Movie!

Had a fun time from start to finish. A fascinating story with unusual twists and turns. Loved the dialogue, action, intrigue and camera work. This is the perfect role and movie for Jason Stratham and he nails his role. This movie flies right along and never lags. Pay attention or you will get a bit lost. It is worth the effort. What fun if this movie is actually based on a true story. If even 50% of it really happened - especially the last 20 minutes - OMG! This flick is a great ride. See it if you are over 21. Not a kid movie.

A "Mammothly" Good Movie!

Had a great time in this movie. It flew by with an interesting story line, lots of action and good special effects and CGI. Some of the critics have nit-picked at mixing up historical settings saying that Egypt and Mammoths and this primitive man could not have existed at the same time. These critics must have thought they were going to a movie that touted itself as some type of "scientifically accurate movie". This is a fictional action-adventure tale with a love story thrown in. I never cared if every detail was accurate. This was a load of fun. See it! You will like it - and thank me later.

SEMI-slow with PRO-longed agony - skip this glop

This waste of 90 minutes does not deserve a long, detailed review. It's enough to say that if you have seen any of the recent sports comedy movies with Will Ferrell then you have seen this movie already. As a matter of fact they are all better than this movie. There in nothing new here - nothing. Please save your money and time and let's all quit encouraging (and paying) Will Ferrell to make these unoriginal, lazy, formulaic time & space wasters. 'Nuff said. Mr. Ferrell - You are better than this and you know it!
