Before any negatives are said about the film, I do want to emphasize that it was very creative and the CGI were cutting edge. Was upset because this movie should have been rated PG-13 with the crude and sexualized language and I do not recommend it for kids under 9 in my opinion. I can understand how the MPAA could have made this mistake because the movie was a bit of a snoozer. There were great one-liners throughout the film, but a film needs more than funny one-liners to be great. Overall the adult humor was entertaining but felt it had no place in a movie geared for kids.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I went to see this movie with my son and was very pleased with the movie. I am not sure why the reviews were not good? The movie followed the origional animated series and was a treat to see the bending arts with top of the line CGI. The storyline, the characters and their temperments matched perfectly to their origional characters in the cartoon. My son and I look forward to the next Aribender movie. *A side note: I do not recommend this in 3D, the picture quality is very poor in the scenes with minimal lighting. I noticed this same issue with the last Shrek movie as well.*
I personally have not read any of Jeff Kinney's books but my son has, and he is the reason we went to see this movie. He and I both enjoyed this well written comedy. The movie had a great plot with good lessons on interpersonal relationships. Any fans of the book will enjoy the movie and it has enough material to keep the parents intrested in the story line.
