Only drawback was in waiting for the large number of people to get seated, so a late start to movie - we could have arrived later as the pre-movie entertainment wasn't all that entertaining. The movie itself was phenomenal! The attention to how desperate people's lives were was true to the story and paying attention to humanity's offspring, want and ignorance, is something many versions overlook. Jim Carrey performed superbly, a real "natural" as Scrooge and he made this mean, spiteful and stingy man sympathetic. Liked Colin Firth as the nephew and enjoyed Bob Hoskins as the jovial Fezziwig. Cary Elwes's characters were excellent as well. Liked Gary Oldman as Bob Cratchit too. Audience applauded at the end!
