Due to the serious hardships at the heart of this story, it could have been very depressing, but we found it to be quite inspirational and uplifting. They were able to incorporate some humor as well. We left feeling as though we could conquer any difficulties that might come our way. The first 5 minutes were a little confusing, but made sense later on as they were used in flashbacks. Jason Wade was outstanding. I'm glad we bought our tickets online because we got there 30 minutes early and they were sold out!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I've never bought one of his CDs, so would probably not qualify as a real "fan" but you can't help but appreciate his extraordinary talent. I love to watch his choreography. The movie was well done. Expressive. He was an unusual human being, pretty weird, but I don't know how you could cram that much talent into a normal person. He was amazing. I had to keep reminding myself that he was 50 years old - not 25, like most of his backup dancers probably were.
