I, too, went with a group of girlfriends and I think the experience made it the most fun. The move was really good and the money was well spent. I agree that it was a little slow at first and I have read critics say that the characters were poorly developed, but if that truly is so, I must be blind. I cried during several scenes, so did many of my girlfriends, and the climax of the movie was reserved for the very end, just like a truffle. Javier was excellent in his role, and it was a total 360 from seeing him in "No Country For Old Men", which still kind of freeks me out when I think about it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
