Bitter Sweet

What the movie presents is the "backstage" view of the production that had not quite made it to a full dress rehearsal. I looked for signs of aging or debility in this 50 year old man. There were none! He was quick, smooth, aggressive and precise in his dance moves and vocals. He encompassed the grace of Astaire, athleticism of Kelly, agility of Sammy Davis and aggressiveness of James Brown. His voice (when he occasionally went full out) also demonstrated the lilt of innocence with that underlying tinge of anger. In any event, there is a certain sadness. After watching this extended rehearsal session, it makes you long for the actual full performance; which of course is not to be. Bitter sweet indeed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
