I'd actually rate this film more of a 3.5 or 3.8. While it is far superior to the first film, I still felt like it was lacking something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The special effects were much improved. Kristen Stewart toned down the stuttering a tad, although it was still annoyingly present. The overall coloring of the film and the look of the characters was great. The emoting seemed a little hollow. Not quite desperate enough for me. I didn't have the same emotions watching the movie as I did reading the book. But hey, the books are always better. This movie would probably please newcomers to the hype more so than the devoted followers to the saga.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
