Wonderful!!! Well done movie of the classic story. I enjoyed seeing this movie with my 8 year old daughter. I was concerned how certain characters would be portrayed, and if the story would be bent toward drug references.
I was sooo happy to see the movie was not bent toward drug references, but genuinely and wonderfully capturing the dream experience!!!
Johnny Depp is great as the Mad Hatter, and Helena does a great portrayal as the Red Queen.
Visually this movie does not disappoint.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not from the cookie cutter

This movie is unique, not like all the others. The colors and characters are very neutral, this does not have all the bells and whistles and bright colors that would excite a young child. However, my 7 yr old daughter read this book at school and was interested in seeing the movie. I was shocked at first, at the lack of bright colors and bells and whistles. However, my daughter gained and I gained a better understanding of child psychology and the human development, and I think that she was able to learn seeing this from a boy's point of view. I would not have recommended this movie to any child younger than 7, or if your child is looking for the usual cookie cutter movie with the laughs, bright colors, and utopia of child kingdoms.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
