Harrison Ford plays the jerk well. Brendan Fraser does the likable parent on a mission to save his children well, and to top it off, the story of a man who overcomes an overwhelming fear, gives up the safe / secure job to pursue a longshot cure, and in the end, succeeds in saving his children.
don't miss this one. A great story about a young man overcoming a challenging start in life, and a woman and her family who went with the flow and resisted their culture by taking in a fellow human in need and assisting him to find his path in life.
I enjoyed Robert Downey’s acting and being a reader of the stories by Sr. Arthur Conan Doyle for many years, I was able to follow along well, but the accents made it difficult to follow at times… being from the Midwest, the dialogue was difficult to follow, making parts of the story confusing for my wife. It appears there will be sequel. Hope they intend to tone down the accents next time.
Great story with a reference to energy sharing. It had a great transitional point with the young warrior developing an affinity to the indigenous on the planet.
I was expecting a comedy and got what appeared to be a drama. Don’t get me wrong, I like drama, but the setup for going to the resort was not well prepared. Most notable, I was bothered that the single guy needed Vince Vaughn cosign on his motorcycle, but he was able to afford to pay for he and his girlfriend to vacation at this exotic resort. Also, the guys running the resort and acting as therapists could have had smaller parts. The guitar hero playoff scene was way too hoaky and not at all funny. Lost my vote at that point.
