JJ Abrams is a great director but the plot is complicated and hard to follow. Normally I say just enjoy the ride but the plot is so off-the-wall that anything goes -- think when Patrick Duffy returned after the a year on Dallas and the entire previous year was just a dream. Way too off the wall! Now I understand what was meant by "forget everything."
Plus the dialogue and techno-babble was too fast and hard to comprehend.
Yes -- it is a Bond film. Yes -- Daniel Craig is again a great Bond. But though highly anticipated, not very enjoyable. The cinematography/editing was very choppy (ala Bourne) and very difficult to see what is happening -- hard to follow. But worse of all, the plot (aka writing) was not very engaging or easy to understand -- what exactly was Quantum after. And much of the dialogue was hard to comprehend/hear -- i.e. the audio was weak. The ending was such that one can expect that we will hear more about the "Quantum" organization in the next installment.
Was it worth going to see -- Yes -- but keep your expecations low -- Casino Royalle it is not.
