Well made, could use more storyline

I enjoyed it very much, but they spent way too much time redoing the special effects of 27 years ago, just to show they could be upgraded.
You can watch it without having watched the original, and enjoy it. But you will miss quite a few things that go unsaid, which build on the original.

Nice costumes, so-so story line

A very forgettable story that has nothing to do with the concept of the original Alice in Wonderland. It just uses the same characters. If you expect dialog like in the original movie, with logic games and twisted words, you will be very disappointed.
On the movie experience itself, I watched it in 3D and believe that watching it in plain old 2D would have been just as good, less expensive, and probably better for my ears. The dynamic range of the audio is way too high, with loud passages too loud for comfort. Sound levels that you can expect from a movie with big explosions, added for no reason at all.
