A somewhat depressing and monotonous story, yet magical in its imaginative scope. Early into the movie we are introduced to THE WILD THINGS as a depressed bunch who have apparently lost the taste for optimism in their existence, until the coming of the young boy, MAX. But you have to remember this is for children. What a child would see in this borders an imaginative paradise--a boy's more specifically-- without restrictions. It took me back to my days of forts made of chairs and bed sheets. In short, OVERRATED yet BRILLIANT, DEPRESSING yet MAGICAL. On the up side the animated robots are eerily lifelike and quite AMAZING. KUDOS TO THAT! But, If you simply must and have to see for it yourself though, I recommend seeing it high.
