My daughter became a fan after seeing all of the media hype around his death (although she says she was interested in his music before then). I am glad we went. We would have probably never seen him live at a real concert and this movie experience gave us a chance to see him in his element. It is a bittersweet experience because you're sitting there realizing that he stilll had so much to give the world. I can't imagine what it must feel like for his children or family to see him on the screen...but perhaps in some way it gives them something to hold on. I hope that people will finally realize that he was truly a musical genius. I love the fact that he allowed others in the movie to have their own shine moments.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
