“Bright Star” is a brilliant drama written and directed by Jane Campion about the life and romantic love affair of 19th Century poet John Keats, played by Ben Whishaw and Fanny Brawne, played by Abbie Cornish. The movie runs just under two hours in length and is thankfully laced with linguistic lines of prose that breathe life into a rather boring recount of Keats tragedy that was his life. Campion, craftily used the magnificent imagery of the European countryside to enhance the visual scenery of such a slow time in history. Without the passionate affair between Keats and Brawne to heat up the screen I would have all but fallen asleep
