Lots of hype, not enough chill

I saw the trailer for this and read all the early reviews about it being the "scariest movie ever". I'm a scary movie nut and quickly bought tickets and took my wife to it. I was a sucker for the hype. :) There were 2 or 3 really scary (1 of which was rather disturbing) parts. However, the rest of the movie was rather boring and border-line frustrating at times.
The idea was golden, but the delivery left wanting more fear in my bones when the credits rolled. Kudos for avoiding the cliche horror flick characters and plot! That alone earned this movie the 3rd star.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
