The first movie i wanted to walk out on...

this movie had the potential to be great, to be epic! but the whole movie failed, i kept hoping something good would happen... nothing ever did. to review this movie you have to look at it from 2 perspectives: if you've seen the series, or if you havent. ill start with the first one.
Sakka was a huge disappointment. One of the main appeals was his humor, which was nonexistent. The spirit beasts being the guiding factor? they completely took at the fire benders main goals and the roll of the avatar spirits. The fight scenes were completely dumbed down. the animation had beatifull coordination with fighting while the movie dumb downed and changed it. the fact firebenders need fire to bend? come on! the uncles character wasnt the same, actually all the actors were not matching the characters. the final water battle scene? underplayed horribly. To many important side characters where removed as well, like the girl warriors, jet, the fire bender teacher, avatar roku. to much of the journey was just completely taken out.
now if you've never seen the series, here is why you shouldn't watch it: the acting was horrible, the story was half assed and everywhere, the script was simplistically childish, practically no humor, the 3d was a complete joke, martial arts shown were to obviously coordinated, the special effects rarely followed the characters movements, and the camera filming was ridiculous.
more detail you ask? The acting emotion just wasn't present. They were just saying words with expressionless faces, and when they did decide to make an attempt it looked ridiculous. The script didnt help the actors at all. It was slow and stagnant. Kitara lines were so dumb and short. apparently everything she said was in question form and filled with surprise. Sakka's lines werent even needed. The fire benders lines were to repeated as well as others peoples lines. i dont know how many times he had to keep mentioning that annoying library. And where was the humor! One of the main appeals is the ability to make people laugh. i laughed once. and they made way more attempts then that. the 3d, well where was it? i took off my glasses in the very beginning, and was able to practically watch the whole movie without any problems. i shoudlve demanded my money back, because that was not 3d. the martials arts, well i wonder how many of them actually knew what the hell they were doing! and do these people not know how to make running look real? to many obvious falls, slow movements, planned hits that stood out way to much, the warriors looked like the were picked out of the dollar store! This leads into the fact the special effects did not even emit from the character themselves most of the time, like the elements were always 2 steps behind. and the camre angles? omg id made me start to wonder who the hell the director was! no smooth transitions, horrible coverage of sucky fighting, to many times where the camera was just focusing on a single character, like they were being looked up at from a mirrored reflection.
To end this, the only thing i can say is, what the hell was nickelodeon thinking letting this movie go to theaters! they should've had a tighter rein on the making of the movie. what a joke.
So in case the message isnt clear, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE!!!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This movie did not pale in comparison to its counter parts. it had the works. comedy, suspense, and drama. its a must see for kids and for the older generation that followed toy story when they were younger, lol. you will not be disappointed with the ending. It gives the feeling every series should when it comes to an end. A feeling that pulls at your heart because its time to let them go, a feeling of remembrance, like missing friend you dont want to let go, but you must.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
