This is a wonderfully tense movie with sparse, but effective, special effects. One of the scariest things is a light turning on, or a woman standing over a bed. Unlike its predecessors, this version of the filmed-by-the-actors movie dispenses with the nauseous runnings of excitable people mostly in favor of a tripod. Except for the final, unneeded ten seconds of the film, this one is a perfect thriller.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
