There was an overload of corny parts and portions that could have been saved for the DVD deleted scenes, particularly, "the party" scene.
Personally I liked the story line better in IM1. IM2 was extremely predictable or my intuition was really high after 12:00 a.m. this morning.
The first action scene was incredible and explosive and not so predictable. It was the only thing that really had me on the edge of my seat.
On a scale of 1-5/A-E, I give it a 4/B...I like the punchline humor and Robert Downey Jr., especially when he suits up; as IM or his impeccable taste in clothes as Tony Stark! I've always enjoyed how cool or savior faire the character was even in cartoons 40+ years ago.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
