Whip It is a good movie with solid acting and a decent amount of action. The movie is filled with some pretty good one liners which had the audience cracking up.
Bliss (Ellen Page) was a likeable confused teenager who found something she truly loved doing but struggled with her parents disapproval. Maggie (Kristen Wiig) does an excellent job as Bliss' mentor and friend. The derby scenes were enjoyable and action-packed.
All in all, Whip It is a movie that will be enjoyable for nearly everyone. And guys really shouldn't be afraid of going to see it with girlfriends or wives. There is definitely enough action, comedy, and plot for everyone (13 yrs and up of course).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
