I really appreciated the reverse of gender roles, seeing Kutcher's character as a sappy romantic while Alba wants her career. My boyfriend thought that Kutcher's role was "gay" - he thinks that because that is not how men are usually portrayed in films, which is exactly why we need more broken gender roles like this one! Loved the professions of women as well, Julia Roberts who once played a prostitute in a Marshall film is now portrayed as an American soldier. Hathaway, a phone sex operator, this is done so well throughout the film. She is smart, hysterical, and in the end apologizes for just the right thing, and triumphantly does not for the rest. Overall it's a fun flick; I would love to see Diablo Cody and Marshall work together!
