Few movies have the potential to positively influence a young generation when their elders are showing such poor judgement. AVATAR teaches kids that other cultures are not "evil" and deserved to be understood, not for the purpose of destroying them from inside, but to respect their different ways. It teaches kids that sending the military to pilfer their resources is wrong, wether Na'Vi, Native Americans or Iraqis. Technically, AVATAR is amazing. The Na'Vi people look and act so realistically that you won't believe they are not actors in costumes. The 3D effect tend to wear off and taking your glasses off for a few seconds helps restore the illusion. Two hours and forty minutes is long. I wish it had gone on longer...
