I didn't know quite what to expect, other than, of course, the story of Secretariat. I remember the races as a kid on our B&W TV in the living room.
It was a compelling story that still has the strongest points being the actual racing - not a surprise, given the subject.
Very enjoyable and worthwhile, if you like horses.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A good way to get lost in a story that is somewhat inane, yet always funny.
This isn't quite a "kids" (e.g. 4+ year old) movie; there is some crude humor, but only those who are hyper-sensitive will find it offensive for children. There's enough there to keep adults entertained in the humor department, including a backhanded reference to the defunct Lehman Bros (that one is, IMHO, particularly good)
I'm losing my charm factor with the 3D stuff rather quickly and this isn't one of those movies that "has to be" seen in that format. IMHO it would be just as good in the 2D version - and cheaper.
I liked it - and for "kid-style" animated features, that's reasonably rare.
