Thought it was going to be a good moive, excitement and aliens, but it went against the formula for any and every moive, good guys when...not a good ending.

This light hearted, yet dark comedy by Drew Barrymore really struck a cord with me. I love roller derby, like when I was a kid, not like the KC version on a flat track,. The dynamics between mom and the lead are heart felt and genuine. The over bearing nature of a "pageant" mom and the forced adherence to the pursuit of a crown gives way to a deeper and more realistic need for each character.
The dad plays a pivotal role without overshadowing the mother/daughter dynamic.
Overall I would recommend this movie to everyone, even if you are not a tattoos loving gothic supporter.

Ok I will admit I have always had a fascination with "zombie" movies, so my take on this movie is based upon the skewed view of a zombie lover.
I loved the movie; the humor mixed with the carnage is a delicate balance sure to please the most ardent zombie lover as well as the non-zombie lover.
The use of humor to approach a drastic situation is so commonplace in every day life why not include it in the apocalyptic tale of "mad cow' gone wild.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have always and will always be a Trek fan, not a trekkie, just a fan. I have seen every movie of the franshise and not all have been that great, this one blew me away. The story was right in line with the orginal TV series and the CGI effects brought tolife what we could only imagine back in the 60's for a sci-fi movie. There is plenty of action and fresh enough so that you do not have to a fan of the orginal to enjoy it, but there are enough references to the older moive to granish a grin and chuckle for the most die hard "trekkie" out there. It was an awesome experience on the IMAX screen, geat sound and quality of the movies worth the few extra bucks for the experience.

Excellent movie, casting was good with Duane Johnson giving a very compelling protrayal of a harden ex-felon touched by the needs of others and willing to go the extra mile to help. Very clever and entertaining use of the cast members of the orginal movie.
