The special effects make this movie worth watching while the dialogue is often lame and the story-line is fairly implausible, especially the conclusion. Acting was fair with the exception of Woody Harrelson who perfectly plays the role of the eccentric Yellowstone dweller. Go see 2012 because the striking visuals are worth spending your time in the theater for nearly 3 hours.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Four of us saw this movie (ages 15, 23, 49, 55) and all of us felt the same-- it was AWESOME! What a wonderful way to remember the true King of Pop. Don't miss the chance to see the final footage of MJ.
My husband and I went to this movie to relive the spirit of those days. The movie captured some of the sentiment but was utterly disappointing in the lack of musical performances that defined that time. I remember asking my husband, "Where's the music?" about three quarters of the way through the movie. Just when you think the movie will focus on the actual concert, the main character gets side-tracked on his journey to hear the music, so we never get there either. Demetri Martin was believable and his parents seemed about right. I would give "Taking Woodstock" 2.5 stars and say you will probably enjoy this movie if you don't care alot about the music.
