Be ready to think and wrap your mind around it

This movie did not live up to all the hype. As being known as always over detailing movies and noticing the little things from others when viewing a movie. Shutter Island really put me to sleep. I couldn't follow the movie the first 3/4 of it and had a hard time understanding what was going on. The violence and scenes from the war DiCaprio was in were gruesome. I almost got up and walked out when all the guards at the German camps were lined up and shot. As I understand the meaning now of it, it could have been portrayed in another way. Younger children definitely are not advised to see it as they won't even understand the movie anyways.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
