Much more than elementary!

Visually engaging and fast paced movie. With minor exceptions, even though this is a completely new story, it is quite faithful to the original Arthur Conan Doyle characters. (This Watson is much more self-assured and assertive than usual and both Holmes and Watson's clothing and facial stubble are decidedly not consistent with the refined Victorian gentlemen that Doyle created.) However, viewers familiar with SH stories will recognize (and enjoy) many references that give the movie a sense of authenticity. Downey, Law & Strong are all great in these roles.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
