We were searching for a movie to go to in Orlando on this rainly gloomy day. We picked Legion but the user reviews were quite bad. We found Book of Eli's reviews very helpful. This was a pretty good movie. It was like you normal apocolyptic flick in some ways, but with a very different twist that was quite refreshing. Denzel and Gary were great in it.
My friends and I all saw this a week ago. We knew that it was going to be bad (we hate the books and Twilight was bad too), but not THAT bad. Twilight was watchable, but New Moon was a total joke. We were dying of laughter for the whole entire movie. The only bearable parts were with Jacob (until he turned into an Edward copy), but Bella's idiocy ruined it. Seriously. Her face was SO funny. This face -- :| For. The. Whole. Entire. Movie.
What made it worse was that it was taking itself way too seriously.
So... if you're looking for a comedy movie, watch New Moon. If you're looking for something intellectual and LOGICAL, go for something else. Anything else.
I am a 47 year old dad and I took my daughter (14) and son (12) to this movie. At first, my wife and I were hesitant due to the R rating, but the overwhelming good reviews and my love of sci-fi changed our minds (and plus my daughter loved the trailer and the concept short on YouTube). The movie was great. The transformation of the main character from prejudice human to the compassionate being he became was really touching. The ending was great. Of course, my 12 year old son loved the special effects. :P
The movie had an interesting plot. Howeverr, it was a bit hokey at times. The aliens being the angels is an example of this hokiness. My 14 year old daughter thought the angels should have been better looking. We thought the ending was too final - I mean the world actually ends!!!????
