I went to see this movie with my sister and we both really enjoyed it. Amy did a real good job but I didn't really see the spark or connection between them. The plot reminded me of a short film I produced a couple of years ago so that was really cool. Definitely worth seeing.
I've seen better movies on free TV. I didn't particularly think it was sad, nor funny, nor insightful or anything. It just was a day in the life of a traveling salesman...very boring. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never really got going. Hollywood needs to get the message. They've milked the Hollywood cow dry. Time for new stock. Almost everyone has a story, some of us two or three. But, Hollywood is a very closed circle and they keep their own in the inner circle and never give new blood an opportunity to really tell a story.
I found the movie not to be as funny as others have stated in their reviews. But, it was an okay movie and I would recomend seeing it. There were some funny parts and some not so funny parts. I feel there was a lot more they could have done with the story line. Also, there was a color oophs in one scene.
Most movies based on a true-life story are boring. I'm sure they embellished it some. But, it never dragged and didn't just show football. It showed interpersonal relationships. The little boy was fabulous...the next Opie ! He’s a natural and captured the audience. You could hear people laughing or commenting and I missed a few lines it was that good. Sandra was great as always. And, Tim McGraw was amazingly good. I had seen him in a prior movie and he wasn't that good. He was very believable here. And, when singing he always wears a hat and goatee to cover his face. Clean-shaven and no hat shows just how handsome he really is. And, I would have loved to have been Sandra in his arms! Great movie. I will suggest it to friends and family.
I went to this movie thinking it was a suspense movie. I'll tell you right up front that I don't like horror or gore type of movies. There was a lot of gore that didn't need to be there. I was very disappointed and they made the bad man likeable. i don't like the message it gives. Plus, the finale was a let down in that the special effects were so sophmoric that it looked like they were done by a low end home computer editing program. I don't recommend this movie at all.
I agree that most of the funny scenes were in the previews. Except for the little boy. He definitely had the 'ah' factor. What a cutie. I'd like to see him featured in something. I've been single for a number of years and that movie made me want to stay single forever! OMG! Not a lot of substance to the movie, just kind of okay. the scenery was gorgeous. I'd wait to see it at the rental house as it's not theater worthy.
I went to see this movie with my mom and sister expecting to see a romance. There was a romance involved. However, the movie was really about healing from the loss of a loved one. There were many set ups with predictable outcomes. But, a pretty good movie. My sister cried at several parts. I don't recall seeing the main character before. But, his deamenor makes me think he might be the next Harrison Ford. He has a mesmerizing cleft (dimple) on his chin and a really good look on film. I say 'See it." I was a little worried through part of the film when he set a parrot free in Seatle, Washington as that type of bird can't survive in that climate in the wild. However, they saved the bird. so, all is well.
It was worth seeing. A little draggy in a couple of places. Had a continuity problem in one scene where the main character got in bed on one side and all of a sudden he's on the other side. Maybe editor cut it wrong, don't know, just takes you out of the story for a moment. Some parts were tricky to follow bouncing back and forth. He got married with gray hair and died without gray hair??? Other than that it was an ok sort of movie. I liked it.
I went to the movie wanting to laugh. I was disappointed. There were some funny things. But, mostly offensive, sophmoric humor. I didn't really care for it.
