Expensive special fx, abroad locations, big budget, all show, no go! Fractured storyline left all audiences saying "What? Is that the end?' Too many subtitles, no plot, too many alternate mini-stories that didn't need to be there except to stretch out a poor story to make it a feature. Matt was good. I have to ask, how do they get the financing to make such stories when I can't get mine made? LA is dried up, look outside the click and get something interesting.
Excellent movie. The cinematography was very well done taking you from above the horse's head to behind his hoofs. It gave a feeling of excitement. Watching the audience was really fun as everyone was clapping caught up in the moment even though we all knew the outcome. Got a lot of facts I didn't know as it was before my time. Very enjoybale, feel good movie.
I absolutely loved the movie. I want to go to Verona! The cinematography was a fabulous work of art. The actors facial expressions were very moving. Some of the lines were a little cheesy but what the heck. It was a feel good chick movie. I wish more movies like this were being made. If you can't have than kind of a love in real life you can live vicariously through the movie. A definite 'see it.'
I want a love like that! Unfortunately, a love like that only happens in the movies. It was cute, not hysterical or anything like that. But, an enjoyable movie.
OMG! Are they kidding me? I read many of the glowing reviews and while seeing the movie wondered if they saw the same movie I did or if they were on the same planet. Someone stuffed the ballot box. There were a few cute scenes. But, it was very sophmoric, not much of a plot. I guess 12 year old boys would like it. A waste of time and money to see it.
The story itself kind of dragged. It was like a day in the life of a washed up country music singer. Jeff did a really good job acting, very believable. Although wardrobe should know that most true Texans wear Wranglers, not Levis. I would wait to see it on DVD.
I thought the movie was very good, wonderful cinematography and special affects. Definitely worth seeing, good story. I've read several reviews. To the person who wished the end was different...it was written after the book and things in life don't always turn out the way we want. To those expecting a certain type of movie because someone involved usually does different kinds of genre', get over it. This wasn't supposed to be a horror movie. This was very good.
There was such a mixture of genres that it turned me off. It went from suspense, to gore, to spiritual to a mess. Pick one and go with it. The Boston accents came and went and were horrible and at times difficult to understand. The movie wasn't that compelling just filled with scenes that make you jump. Not worth seeing.
I felt the story itself was very compelling. Harrison Ford did a great job. However, Brendan Fraser lacked an emotional connection to the character. He seemed to have a flat affect. He didn't seem to elicit the emtional reaction I felt sure the story would produce. I left feeling like I saw a good story but that it wasn't told with the passion I expected.
