Felt like a docu-drama; a film within a film.
All aspects: writing , acting, directing, editing top notch.
Bale gives the performance of his career thus far.
Don't think of Rocky here. Far more than a "fight movie"; fighting is but the backdrop to the love-hate-pain relations that exist in families.
A must see.

Thought the movie was excellent.
Those who do not like country music may have trouble as there is much (all of it good) in the movie.
All the actors were terrific. Bridges' best performance to date. Duvall enters late in the movie but is well worth the wait.
A movie that explores the destructive power of alcoholism on the individual, his life and his relationships and the possibility of redemption.
A fine, adult film.
