Delight for kids and adults

Short of the obsession with poking out eyes, this movie enraptured my preteens. I loved it too. We see many 3-D IMAX movies. Most of them are fine. However, Burton worked his movie like a master. There is always something moving in the scene (dust or seeds) so that one's mind never normalizes and adjusts to the 3-D. You always see it there and not with the cliche objects popping out at you, but rather small details that continue to float as the action goes on.
Depp is darling but Helena steals the film. And the details! Go see this. It lives up to the hype. We are waiting breathlessly for the sequel as Alice comes back "Through the Looking Glass"
Yes, I recommend this movie.

We had seen the movie before. For anyone who read the book, it was okay. For those who didn't, like my husband, it had serious holes.
DO NOT pay for the 3-D or Imax. This is not "The Dark Knight" and I assume not filmed with an IMAX camera. The film did not fill the screen top to bottom.
Really a rip off for the extra money.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
