If you like Coen Bros. movies... you'll definitely enjoy this. It's A little bit "No Country for Old Men" meets "Raising Arizona" meets "Fargo". It was very funny, and as quirky as expected.
It's so refreshing to see an off-beat artsy American re-make of a great foreign film that was amazing. This movie is touching and disturbing for all the wrong reasons...due to the artistry of storytelling. Only a truly gifted movie crew and cast can have you sweating bullets for the safety of the "bad guys" and cheering when the....... well, I don't want to ruin it. I saw it 2x in the theater and I loved every minute. A touching beautiful film that will have you waiting a looooonnnngggg time for anything better.
I wasn't sure where this was going at first but i really enjoyed it. It was scary enough, suspenseful enough and touching enough to make it a well-rounded good movie.
It seems like this movie was made in 1988. He (Sly) just can't get out of that era of tough-guy films. These movies do NOT stand the test of time....so corny! The dialogue is embarassingly ridiculous. I actually felt bad for Stallone having to call in favors for the "walk-ons" from Bruce Willis and Arnold. My friend and I laughed out loud at this pathetic movie. so...if you want a comedy... go see it.
Boy the reviews are awful...but I didn't hate it. I mean, I stayed the whole time and I never looked at the time. It was ok. I didn't expect that ending.
Silly and stupid... yes, but if you have seen the Twilight series over and over you will definitely appreciate the mockery. if you don't know the series.. don't waste your money.
I really wanted to like this movie... I like Paul Rudd. It had potential! Really! But it was boring. I did laugh a few times (out loud) but not 2 hrs. worth. I actually left 5 minutes before the end to beat the rush to the bathroom. I didn't care what happened at the end. I had HAD IT. Maybe if it was on cable I would have enjoyed it more. But for the anticipation and the $11.50..... not worth it.
