What was the fuss about?

I hear what people say about the movie, regarding it being dark etc. But the link of the Half Blood Princes book and Snape was weak and pointless at best. I found myself asking So What? at the snd when the identity was revealed. Now I haven't read the books so maybe I am missing something.
The whole movie plodded along and the same story could have been told in an hour less. Do they just bring Hagrid in because he's under contract, again added nothing to the story.
I could go on but there is no point as the hardcore fanatics of the books/movies would not be able to see beyond their misty HP spectacles.
Nice effort, but was the lesser of the movies so far, the only redeeming feature was the fact it did not go on for three hours.
