I love the HP books! HBP focused a lot more on the relationships that were forming than the most critical plot lines (Riddle's past/Dumbledore's memories). Did I really need to see that much of Ron and Lavender's relationship? Not so much, but I enjoyed it! I think if I had gone with my husband (who has not read any of the books but enjoys the movies), he would have been lost and confused. But as a fan, I always enjoy seeing JK Rowling's books brought to life!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
