Great ending, acting, special effects -- everything we have come to expect from a HP movie including crap that wasn't in the story. Why, if they have to leave out big chunks of the actual story, do they have to make up pointless new stuff? Really, flying head squeezing? The scene from the book would have been better.
I think this movie was exactly what this kind of movie should be. It wasn't blood and gore and it wasn't totally in-your-face sexuality. It was just strongly suggested which, in a way, made more of an impression than if there had been spraying entrails and full frontal nudity. The surrealism of her visions and even the little plot twist at the end was just right. It is manga brought to life and very well done.
Here's a tip for movie makers: when you have limited time to get in all the key elements of a story, don't add stuff that wasn't actually in the story. . They had so much ground to cover with so many important plot elements that it should have been two movies. Instead, they spend all their time on love potions and skip the battle scene at the end. . Even my 8-year-old daughter complained about how much they left out. . Ultimately, I could have just waited for it to come out on DVD.
