Julia Shines . . . Julie Whines

Meryl Streep is simply fabulous in this role. She is wonderful to watch and is Julia Child to a "T." Unfortunately, she was only on the screen half the time. I loved Julia's story and the love story between her and her husband is very touching. Unfortunately, Julie is a typical 30ish child of the the early 21st century. She is very self absorbed and really doesn't have much of a story to tell. Whenever the movie jumped back to Julie's life I had to will myself to pay attention. Overall I did enjoy the movie -- but some of the best parts were seen in the coming attractions.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
