Great piece of animation from Japan which is delightful to both young and old. I viewed the movie with a seven year old and she was entranced the entire time. I was equally amazed by the reactions of several other children in the theater reacting to the epressions of emotions conveyed through the eyes of the characters.Anime at its best.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A great concept that never reached fruition. Set against the South African slums it failed to tell the story that movies such as TOTSIE succeeded in doing. Still, it is well enough done that I somewhat anticipate the hinted at sequal promised to arrive three years hence.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
