Perhaps I was expecting too much out of the film since this was my favorite book in the series, but I found it shallow and well below my expectations. The character development was anorexic. One barely got to see the relationship Harry had with the Half Blood Prince via the text book in the film. While they did a mediocre job with Ron and Hermione’s relationship, they killed Harry and Ginny's as well as his relationship with Dumbledore. They have ruined the chances for the last two films to have much success without ignoring glaring inconsistencies in this one. Yet another example of a movie that only gets good reviews based on previous films in the series. If you’ve read the book, you can glean some enjoyment. If not, skip it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
