Great for Fans.... Good for Others

As one the most highly anticipated films of the year and a huge fan, I couldn't wait for it. The movie I went to was sold out- with ages ranging from 1 to senior citizens.
I found the movie great as a fan. I could understand it and followed along. I was frustrated at points where it completely left out parts of the book or made up parts. There were times when it fit and times when it did not (ie, Hermione and Harry dancing).
However, I think it was confusing for those who did not read the books. I felt that I had to explain to my friend who has not read the books what was going on when they left out parts. I think that if a whole group who has never read the books went without a "guide' they would be bit lost. However, I will credit the writers for dropping in lines that reminded their viewers about what had happened.
Overall, a pretty great movie for all to enjoy.
