I am a huge fan of the books,and I am also a screenwriter, so, while I understand the complaints people have made about the deviation from the book, I can also understand why they did it. It's not easy to condense all that story to 120 pages.
As far as the movie goes, I looked at it as a film, which was beautifully shot and told a lot of story in 2 and a half hours. The ending did what it was supposed to, it set up #7. I believe we should look at the books and the movies as two seperate mediums, each told as they're supposed to be told. And yes there is Quidditch in it, and Ron gets his moment, but is the whole story about Quidditch? No. There's a lot to tell, and I think they did a great job.
