Was this movie original? No.
It was a cross between Star Wars, Outbreak and Dances With Wolves. I think what made the movie work was the amazing technology used to make it. I would put it alongside Star Wars, Terminator 2, Matrix and Independence Day.

It was visually captivating and thus you were trapped in a maze of often used plots but you didn't care... I liked the movie and i would see it again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
